The research into the object has revealed some interesting information about the construction of this object. It was made out of one piece of leather – the maker must have been very skilled to do this!
The tail contains some metal reinforcement, but otherwise the object is hollow. This is surprising, since the object is quite stiff. We have found nothing to point us to whether this object was used in any practical way, or just for show.
The hypothesis that this object was made to show of craftmanship and skill is therefore quite believable, but it is difficult to find hard evidence.
